David has 20+ years experience in the Music Industry, starting with 2 record and publishing deals as bassist and joint songwriter with Manchester techno-rock pioneers Eskimos and Egypt. After 3 albums and touring with the likes of The Prodigy, Rammstein and Faith No More, he co-formed F.A.F as a music production company and co-produced and co-wrote 2 international No1 singles and a UK top 5.
FAF also produced and remixed for the likes of Moby, Sonique, Rammstein, Erasure, Alphaville, Cradle Of Filth and Heather Small. David ventured into music management and signed Manchester alt-pop band Kid British to Universal and Emi publishing and co-managed BBC 6Music favourites Goldheart Assembly (Fierce Panda Records). Before setting up Republic Management and Beautiful Noise Records with respective partners Den, Joel and Ben, David was head of A&R for 4 years at Manchester based MUK Records (Sony / Red Essential).
Den Davis is the founder of ‘The Studios’ recording and rehearsal complex in Mottram, Cheshire and chairman of UK youth charity ‘Impact England’. Den’s love for mod/new wave pioneers ‘The Jam’ led to him playing bass in a band and a keen interest in music production. His other love, Manchester United FC, embarked him on a career as a football coach and scout for Burnley (and ironically) Manchester City FC!.
With a never ending passion for music Den set up ‘Drum Skool’ in 2003 to bring drumming workshops into schools across the Tameside region. He is also an archivist at Universal Music for The Jam and has successfully curated 2 Jam exhibitions entitled ‘About the young idea’ at Somerset house in London and The Cunard building in Liverpool.
Ben is the chief events manager for one of Manchester’s premium live touring venues Sound Control, booking contemporary artists from both the UK and overseas and right across the musical spectrum. Ben started as a touring drummer playing to worldwide audiences before moving into booking and artist management.
After managing iconic live Manchester venues such as Night and Day and The Roadhouse, Ben promoted sell out shows and club nights all over the country. His TJ events company has put large touring artists into venues such as Manchester Apollo, Albert Hall, The Ritz ballroom and Gorilla.
There is nothing guitarist Joel Perry doesn’t know or hasn't seen or dealt with in the live music industry!. With 20 years experience, firstly setting up TPI magazine, the market-leading international live and touring publication to heading up the established Touring Division for Wigwam Acoustics’ Hire Department, the industry’s leading audio systems provider.
Joel maintains key accounts with artists, labels, promoters, agents, production managers, tour managers & engineers. Establishing non- traditional artist capture mechanisms, which includes forming partnerships with the Performing Rights Society(PRS), the Musicians’ Union Performance, YouTube, UKTI/DIT, SXSW, BBC, Festivals, Education Facilities and a host of other explorative outlets. Advancing and show day contact at concerts and festivals, Joel is the account handler for a number of high profile touring acts.
As the Charity director for ‘Manchester verses Cancer’ a charity formed with ex-The Smiths bass player, Andy Rourke and staged at the 16,000 capacity Manchester Arena, Joel has raised and donated nearly £1,000,000 for non-aggressive cancer treatment, over 5 hugely successful concerts. As well as securing the services of friends like Paul Weller, New Order, Doves, Elbow, Noel Gallagher, Ian Brown, The Charlatans, Happy Mondays, Johnny Marr, Echo & The Bunnymen and Badly Drawn Boy amongst others, duties involved all aspects of show production; specifying suppliers, crew, kit. The overseeing of appointing filming and OB, liaising with lawyers to secure consent and release contracts, scheduling running orders and ensuring the maintenance of a high profile in subsequent press reviews
